Automotive Recalibration was a name derived from when we first opened for business in 1977. This was a time when manufacturers, especially American, were scrambling to make their out-of-date vehicles meet new government mandated fuel mileage and emissions standards and, invariably, the vehicle performed poorly. As we repaired these vehicles "to make them perform properly," we called it recalibration, hence the name.
Our name has remained the same, but the quality of the vehicle produced has dramatically improved. We still repair vehicles when they do not perform properly, but now it is restoring the vehicle to the way they were originally designed to operate. Vehicles have become more sophisticated and most cars produced today have at least two computers on board; some as many as 24. The field of auto repair has changed and we have changed along with it, in order to service these vehicles with sophisticated new technology.
